As we continue to expand, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Technician to join our dynamic team.

About the Role

As an Electrical Technician at iNet Africa, you will be instrumental in ensuring the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our diverse service offerings are performed to the highest standards. Your technical expertise will contribute to safety, efficiency, and exceptional customer satisfaction across our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design and improve solar power systems, power backup solutions, and security surveillance systems in compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
  • Plan, install, maintain, and repair solar power systems and power backup solutions for residential and commercial clients.
  • Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems, ensuring seamless integration with other security and monitoring infrastructure.
  • Conduct detailed site surveys to develop effective installation strategies for solar systems, power backups, and CCTV networks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to solar power systems, electrical systems, power backups, and CCTV installations.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients and team members on the operation and maintenance of solar systems, power backups, and CCTV systems.
  • Prepare detailed documentation for all projects, including installation plans, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting records.
  • Monitor electrical consumption patterns and identify irregularities, reporting findings proactively.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, ensuring rapid restoration of offline equipment at base stations.
  • Support technical projects focused on sustainable development, proposing energy-saving solutions where applicable.
  • Proactively assess potential technical issues during site visits, taking immediate action to prevent future problems when possible.


Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field, with specialized training in solar and power backup systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as an Electrical Technician, with expertise in solar power and power backup installations, as well as hands-on experience working with poles, masts, and CCTV systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, solar technology, power backup solutions, structural supports, and CCTV systems.
  • Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical safety standards, building codes, and renewable energy regulations.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for electrical systems and networked devices
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in challenging outdoor environments.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to identify and address technical issues independently.
  • Familiarity with energy-saving technologies and sustainable solutions.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation for projects.
  • A valid driving license for either a car or motorbike.
